Letters to the Troops
This year we will have a "Letters to the Troops" tent. This tent will be available throughout the entirety of the event and give participants the opportunity to write to our service members around the world. All will be invited to share words of thanks and encouragement to those who continue to stand the watch to protect our freedoms.
"The Pack Never Forgets" Banner
In testament to our campus promise to never forget those who lost their lives in New York City, Shanksville, and Washington D.C. and those who chose to answer the call in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, we will have a banner that states "The Pack Never Forgets". We invite all participants to visit this display in Stafford Commons to either sign your name or write a short message of remembrance. The banner will then be displayed in Talley Student Union.
"Sounds of Freedom" Static Display
There will be a static display of assets from Raleigh area first responders. In remembrance of the first responders who gave their lives on September 11th and the service members who answered the call thereafter, we will invite these communities to represent their fallen comrades. Additionally, race participants will be able to "meet and greet" with the first responders and service members. Static displays will be open to participants before and after the race.
The 9/11 Memorial Run will be held on NC State's Main Campus. The opening ceremony and race start will be in Stafford Commons, directly behind Talley Student Union. We ask that participants arrive no later than 8:25 a.m. in the Stafford Commons area for the opening ceremony. The address for Talley Student Union is 2610 Cates Avenue, Raleigh NC, 27606
Parking: Free parking will be available in both the Reynolds Coliseum and Dan Allen Parking Decks. Additional free parking can be found on Cates and Morrill Drive. We encourage participants to access parking decks first to allow parking spaces on Cates and Morrill to be accessible to other campus visitors.
